She started in journalism as a reporter for sporting magazines and worked on several monthly publications before joining the ABC as a television news and current affairs reporter.
Lina spent eight years at the ABC where she graduated to the roles of senior news reporter and chief of staff before joining the Seven Network.
At Seven, Lina was a senior news journalist, state political reporter, medical reporter, presenter, producer, and deputy chief of staff over a span of 12 years.
Lina covered areas from Federal and State Politics to finance, sport and gardening shows and, as she says, “everything in between”. She also produced several documentaries.
In recent years, Lina has worked as a freelance journalist and producer for programs including A Current Affair, 7.30 Report, Stateline and Today Tonight.
Turning to independent documentary production, Lina won the 2003 Rouben Mamoulian award for Best Australian Short Film for her extraordinary documentary, The Mascot. At the 50th Sydney Film Festival 2003 Dendy Awards she also won the Community Relations Commission Award for her skill as director of The Mascot.
